Fan-Created Flavor is Crunching at Baskin-Robbins

A sweet and crunchy winner has emerged from Baskin-Robbins' first annual "Create Baskin's Next Favorite Flavor" contest. After more than 40,000 entries and a nationwide vote, Toffee Pecan Crunch, the creation of Chicago's Diane Sroga, is now available nationwide as Baskin-Robbins' June Flavor of the Month.

Toffee Pecan Crunch combines extra-rich, creamy chocolate ice cream with a sweet caramel ribbon and crunchy bites of HEATH bar and pecans. Sroga visited Baskin-Robbins' corporate headquarters in Massachusetts earlier this year to create the first batch of the flavor with Executive Chef Stan Frankenthaler and the Baskin-Robbins culinary team.

"We received an overwhelming positive response to the'Create Baskin's Next Favorite Flavor' contest which highlights the passion people have shown for our brand for more than 65 years," says Brian O'Mara, Baskin-Robbins vice president of marketing. "We are enormously excited to introduce Toffee Pecan Crunch not only because it is a timeless flavor that will instantly become a favorite of ice cream lovers nationwide, but because it was created by one of Baskin-Robbins most faithful ice cream enthusiasts."

"As a Baskin-Robbins customer for more than 25 years, I am truly honored to see my flavor as the June Flavor of the Month," Sroga says. "It is extremely exciting to think that Toffee Pecan Crunch will be added to the expansive Baskin-Robbins ice cream library alongside famous Baskin-Robbins flavors that I have enjoyed over the years such as World Class Chocolate, Jamoca Almond Fudge, and Gold Medal Ribbon."

Toffee Pecan Crunch is available in Baskin-Robbins shops nationwide during the month of June and is available by the scoop—in a cup or cone—or as a Baskin-Robbins classic sundae. The flavor is also available in hand-packed pints, quarts, and half-gallons so ice cream lovers can bring Toffee Pecan Crunch home to enjoy with family and friends or create their own specialty ice cream desserts.
