Fatburger, one of Hollywood’s iconic burger franchises, has opened its first location in Turkey’s economic and cultural center, Istanbul. The fast-food establishment was brought to the country’s largest city by Universal Food Company, a franchise partner, which has current locations in Kuwait.

The latest Istanbul location is the brand’s first venture into Turkey, delivering its signature better burger concept to a new international market. Fatburger currently operates in 28 countries with approximately half of its locations based overseas. The brand recently opened restaurants in Lahore, Pakistan and Cairo, Egypt and will be launching a unit in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates in the coming months. A predominant global player, Fatburger continues to focus on broadening its worldwide reach with over 300 new units in the pipeline in such regions as the Middle East, Asia, Europe, and Africa.

Turkey’s potential to become a leading area for development attracted us to offer the classic Fatburger experience in the country,” says CEO of Fatburger, Andy Wiederhorn. “Our globally recognized brand is no stranger to entering the competitive international market, and we look forward to serving guests in Istanbul.”

We are proud to be able to bring the unparalleled Fatburger experience to Turkey, a country that has a stable and growing economy,” says UFC Turkey general manager, Rami Zok. “Like many other companies, the foremost reason that attracted us to invest in Turkey is that the country has high and steady growth potential, specifically in the hospitality and food and beverage business sectors. We intend to expand further by opening additional Fatburger restaurants in Istanbul and other surrounding areas in the country in the years to come.”
