Kelly and David Matter are celebrating their one-year wedding anniversary at White Castle. They will be served candlelight White Castle dinner at 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, July 6, 2000, at the Castle located at 1601 White Bear Avenue North. The Castle will be specially decorated for the occasion.

The couple used White Castle as the theme at their wedding reception just one year ago on June 26, 1999 because they both came from families who were long time avid White Castle “Cravers.” Flowers were made out of White Castle sacks and table favors were made out of blue and yellow hamburger boxes. The hamburger boxes featured sayings comparing traditional weddings with White Castle weddings, such as “Traditional wedding—Groomsmen steal the bride/White Castle wedding—Groomsmen steal the White Castles.” The highlight of the reception was a 3-tiered wedding “cake” made out of White Castle hamburger boxes, which featured two Beanie Baby bears with miniature White Castle hats holding a tiny White Castle hamburger box. The 1976 Cadillac limousine that transported the bridal couple was the one that the family had used for many years for their late night White Castle cravings. The cans trailing behind the limousine were decorated with White Castle sacks and hamburger boxes.

Valentine’s Day candlelight White Castle dinners are available by reservation in the Minneapolis area. These special dinners are enjoyed by many and get booked quickly.
