Flippin’ Pizza NY Pies & Slices announced expansion plans across the U.S. over the next few years with commencement of new development in three key territories: Texas, Georgia, and California. Celebrating 10 years of continuous success across six states, the award-winning San Diego based fast-casual pizza chain has stayed true to its Brooklyn roots by serving up hand-tossed pies made with dough prepared fresh daily with only 4 ingredients, including water filtered just like it is in New York. Flippin’ Pizza has flipped the switch and is scaled for rapid growth with a refreshed brand and new systems in place.

Over the next few years, Flippin’ Pizza has commitments for 25 new franchise and company locations across Texas, California, and Georgia. With current locations in California, Georgia, Maryland, Texas, Virginia, and Washington DC, Flippin’ Pizza is continuing to expand its NY roots in surrounding territories throughout the US. Since the start of the year, four new locations opened in new territories of Texas and Georgia with two more locations scheduled to open in Texas this winter.

Flippin’ Pizza Marketing Director, Michelle McKee says, “We enter this next decade with confidence and excitement having already developed a cult following within the communities we serve. We look forward to bringing our authentic hand-tossed pies & slices to new locations across the US as we continue to open more locations. To start our second decade off strong and stand out from the growing build-your-own pizza competition, we flipped up our brand, menu, and technology to meet guests’ needs for convenience and customization. We have introduced a clean, fresh brand look and feel both in-store and online, a revamped menu, new websites and mobile ordering app, and have launched our Flippin’ Perks loyalty program. We are excited about our brand evolution and are continuing to enhance the customer experience.”

Flippin’ Pizza’s refreshed menu offers a contemporary approach to flavors while maintaining its New York soul. The menu focuses on items prepared in-house with quality ingredients, utilizing traditional brick ovens. Core favorites remain on the menu while new items were introduced to compete with the growing competitive landscape. The revamp brings a balance to menu categories to increase both customers spend and frequency.

Each menu item is positioned to meet specific needs of the diverse customer base to keep them happy and coming back for more. The new menu features slice options rotated daily and a simple menu with enough choices to meet a broad range of cravings without burdening operations. Menu updates include the addition of new side items along with other recipe tweaks. The menu offers new specialty items like Baked Wings, Oven-Roasted Broccolini, Oven-Baked Meatballs and House-Baked Cookies, as well as new pies and a refashioned salad line. Since beverage variety continues to be a growing category, each location now features a Coca-Cola Freestyle machine with over 100 choices on deck. Most locations offer a rotating selection of local craft brews on tap, in addition to a simple selection of wine.

FIippin’ Pizza’s new restaurant build-outs capture the spirit of New York with touches of brick and subway tile, while graphics tell the dough story and highlight product quality. Each new location features a by-the-slice pie case and pie making station with front row seats. Guests can sit and watch “where the flippin’ magic happens” as pies are tossed with pride, topped with fresh ingredients, and baked to perfection.

Flippin’ Pizza drives loyalty through investing in the community. By partnering with local schools and organizations to help raise funds through the “Raise Some Dough” fundraising program, civic-minded Flippin’ Pizza creates relationships that last. Each location contributes up to 50 percent of proceeds during fundraising events. It’s most recent national weeklong “HarveyHelp” fundraising campaign helped raise money for the Montgomery County Food Bank to support Texas communities destroyed by Hurricane Harvey. Over the last decade, Flippin’ Pizza has contributed more than $1,000,000 to communities across the country through donations, fundraisers, and giveaways via the “Raise Some Dough” fundraising program.

McKee adds, “We believe in honoring our Brooklyn roots and embracing our New York soul—that means being straight up, having pride in all we do and showing loyalty to the communities we serve. Whether in-store or in the community, we strive to create memorable experiences through serving up great pizza and helping others succeed.”
