Fro.zen.yo delicious self-serve frozen yogurt announced today that a franchise agreement has been reached to develop additional fro.zen.yo stores in Northern Virginia.

The announcement involves several new family franchise owners: Carole McMahon and Cindy and Nathan Kellogg. Virginia residents, they are excited about the concept and once they identify their first location hope to expand with several stores.

Carole McMahon is a talented aesthetician with years of experience in the Washington, D.C. region. She and her family tasted the frozen yogurt during a college visit for their son and knew this was a concept that they would love to own and operate during the next chapters of life.

“We were all so excited about the multiple flavor offerings, and that they were not as tart as typical frozen yogurts,” McMahon says. “We were sold during that visit and are excited to have our own store.”

The fro.zen.yo concept was created by a management team that brings considerable restaurant and retail experience to the table and is based on a self-serve a la carte format.

Recently recognized in Washingtonian Magazine as the Best Frozen Yogurt/Ice Cream, the first fro.zen.yo opened in Friendship Heights in D.C. to rave reviews and long lines of frozen yogurt-cravers.

Currently, fro.zen.yo has eight locations open in the D.C. metro area and is in advanced conversations with prospective franchisees to bring the fro.zen.yo brand to many other cities in the U.S. and overseas.

“We are excited to bring these experienced and motived entrepreneurs to the fro.zen.yo family,” says Michael Rendelman, director of franchising for fro.zen.yo.

“The self-serve model and unique culture of fro.zen.yo are proving to be exciting for consumers as well as prospective owners as we see the brand growing, especially in the Washington, D.C. Metropolitan area.”

Fro.zen.yo’s frozen yogurt is low fat and low calorie. The fro.zen.yo menu features more than 38 flavors of frozen yogurt and a variety of fresh fruit, candy, and other unique toppings including caramel and free hot fudge.

Customers get to choose any combination of flavors and toppings, all for the low price of $.39 per ounce. Fro.zen.yo offers free hot fudge and also offers Deer Park bottled water for $.29.

Fro.zen.yo is one of two franchised concepts being actively developed in the D.C. area with Franchise Consulting, LLC (FC). FC was founded under the leadership of Mike Halpern and is responsible for the successful launch of franchised brands including Brown Bag: Cuisine on the Fly and Paisano’s Pizza.
