Garbanzo Takes Major Step in Eco-Friendly Program
Denver-based Garbanzo Mediterranean Grill, a fast-casual restaurant concept specializing in Mediterranean cuisine, announced today the introduction of compostable entrée plates and Level 1 recyclable plate lids as part of its ongoing eco-friendly initiative.
The 24-ounce entrée plates are made from bamboo pulp and are similar in size to the restaurant concept’s previous plates. A Level 1 recyclable, the new plate lids are made with the most commonly recycled plastic.
“Just as Garbanzo is committed to the healthy eating of our guests, we are also committed to the health of the environment; therefore we are making strategic strides toward decreasing our carbon footprint,” says Alon Mor, Garbanzo founder, president, and CEO. “The eco-friendly changes to our entrée plates and plate lids—the two most used pieces of tableware in our restaurants—are a positive step in our continuing program to make Garbanzo as green as possible.
“As our green program introduces additional eco-friendly tableware, we will continue to ensure quality packaging and make conscious decisions utilizing ample researching and testing.”
