Great American Cookies, the national cookie bakery, will roll out its first cookie truck this week in Houston, Texas. The brand, which is is managed by GFG Management, LLC, a subsidiary of Global Franchise Group, is seeking to capitalize on the food truck trend as a non-traditional form of franchising.

Great American Cookies multi-unit franchisees Lawrence "Doc" Cohen and Jerome Mouton will be the first franchisees operating a cookie truck. Cohen and Mouton say they are excited to debut the truck, which will sell the brand's cookie cakes along with other classic Great American Cookies treats.

"It's an honor to be the first Great American Cookies food truck owners and operators," Cohen says. "Jerome and I are excited to serve the Houston area and are finding that customers are loving that fresh-baked cookies can now come directly to them in all kinds of venues from sporting events to office buildings."

"We are thrilled to launch the newest development in the quick-service restaurant industry with our food trucks," says Chris Dull, president and CEO of GFG Management. "All of our food brands, which include Marble Slab Creamery and Pretzelmaker in addition to Great American Cookies, will debut food trucks this year, and we look forward to going mobile with our brands."

The food truck is adorned with Great American Cookies imagery and has established a social-networking presence on Facebook at CookieTruckHOU1 and Twitter at @CookieTruckHOU1. In addition to its planned location visits, the truck is also available for bookings for local and private event opportunities.
