Convotherm by Cleveland, manufactured in Cleveland, Ohio, is now equipping its standard line of combi-oven/steamers with an antibacterial door handle. This new door handle is made of plastic with embedded silver ions. The antibacterial effect will never change and is medically and ecologically safe.

Convotherm by Cleveland will offer the new door handle as a standard—without extra charge—on all standard models of Convotherm Combi Steamers. The new Convotherm by Cleveland “Mini” series will include the new handle starting in May 2010.

The practical advantages for the professional chef are evident: no transfer of bacteria or microbes such as salmonella from the door handle to the containers or plates. The work with the combi-steamer will be completely hygienic from the start, as soon as the door opens.
