In an effort to ensure consumers and members of the seafood industry, have the most up-to-date, easily accessible information on wild-caught Gulf Coast seafood, the Gulf Seafood Marketing Coalition recently enhanced its website, www.eatgulfseafood.com. Visitors to the website will immediately notice a refreshed layout that features new or revised sections, and videos.
New to the website is the “Find it” tool found on the homepage. This helpful feature provides the latest listing of retail stores, restaurants, and wholesalers that carry Gulf Coast seafood products. Website visitors can search by city, state, or species, and can even filter by restaurant, retailer, or wholesaler through the “Find it” feature.
Also new to the website are Gulf Coast personality video vignettes, which provide context around the culture of the cuisine. Shot in an engaging documentary style, the one-to-two minute videos featured on the homepage creatively explore the robust verve and distinct character that defines the Gulf Coast—its families, its culture, and most importantly, its seafood. Lush photography, upbeat music, and fast-paced editing evoke the energy of the Coast while conveying the brand authenticity and its natural effervescence. The first series of videos capture a chef, a restaurateur, a writer, a painter, a musician, and a marine biologist—a mix of social, lively people extoling the virtues and uniqueness of the Gulf.
The recipe section received an exciting overhaul that includes a customized recipe finder feature, making it easier than ever for consumers to find at-home methods for preparing Gulf Coast seafood. Website visitors looking for recipes now can search by course, species, prep time, prep type, seasonality, and serving size.
With easy-to-read icons, the recipe finder takes the stress out of searching for recipes .The Coalition has added more than 100 recipes, with new recipes being added frequently, and recipe photos creating an endless database of Gulf Coast seafood recipes fit for any occasion.
“We understand that we have only a few minutes to capture and maintain the attention of website visitors,” says Joanne McNeely, marketing coordinator of the Gulf Seafood Marketing Coalition. “We’ve revamped the website to make it the first destination for consumers, buyers, retailers, and media when they are looking for anything and everything Gulf Coast seafood. We now have a website as enthralling an engaging as the Gulf Coast culture and cuisine.”
Coming soon to the mobile space, the Coalition will be launching a Gulf Coast Seafood Finder app on the iPhone and Android phone for added convenience when locating fresh and flavorful Gulf seafood on the road.
