Beginning April 20 for a two-week period, McDonald’s Canada will be offering Canadians the type of stimulus that goes down easy in any type of economy: free coffee.

Consumers visiting McDonald’s locations across Canada between April 20 and May 3 will get a small coffee free of charge – no purchase necessary – whenever breakfast is served.

“We know that Canadians are serious about their coffee, and so are we,” says John Betts, president of McDonald’s Restaurants of Canada Limited.

“To prove it, we’re inviting Canadians – including those who have yet to try our Premium Roast coffee – to experience for themselves what we believe to be the perfect cup of coffee, on us.”

McDonald’s Premium Roast coffee is made with 100 percent Arabica beans, hand-picked, and fire-roasted for a full-bodied flavor and served in McDonald’s new cup that makes it even easier for customers to enjoy because the cup stays cooler to the touch as compared to the previous design.

“Breakfast continues to be a growth driver for McDonald’s Canada, and our coffee sales have been a significant contributor to our business momentum since we introduced our Premium Roast blend in 2003,” Betts says.

“Following a comprehensive and nationwide focus on employee training, equipment standardization and the introduction of our new ‘on-the-go’ cup and lid, we’re confident that even more Canadians will discover the truly great taste of McDonald’s coffee with their breakfast.”

Recent figures already indicate that this past February alone, McDonald’s Canada sold about 1.3 million more cups of coffee than during the same period last year.

Further bolstering its hot beverage offerings, McDonald’s Canada has also introduced the great taste of its Premium Roast coffee in brewed decaf, as well as a line of Premium Teas in four flavours: Earl Grey, Orange Pekoe, Peppermint, and Green Tea.

The two-week free coffee offer is not valid with any Extra Value Meal or value picks offer.
