The Coca-Cola Company partnered with Sodexo Inc., an integrated facilities management services company in the U.S., Canada, and Mexico, and Gazelle, an online consumer electronics reCommerce service, to launch a special trade-in and recycle program.

From August 31 through October 2, employees at Sodexo-managed office buildings and hospital cafés across the country can go to coke.gazelle.com to trade in items from 20 electronics categories. For their trade-ins, customers may receive cash or donate to charitable organizations, such as the Ocean Conservancy, the Nature Conservancy, Habitat for Humanity, Keep America Beautiful, and the Sodexo Foundation to STOP Hunger.

The program, titled “Give It Back: Recycle & Everyone Wins!”, builds on Coca-Cola’s existing “Give It Back” platform and, paired with Sodexo’s distribution reach and Gazelle’s comprehensive electronics reCommerce service, is the right combination for this expansion of Coca-Cola’s campaign.

“Eliminating e-waste is a natural fit with Coca-Cola’s ongoing commitment to the environment, and with the help of Gazelle and Sodexo we are excited to be a part of electronics recycling,” says Jeffrey Foote, director of sustainability at Coca-Cola. “This partnership will help us offer Coca-Cola customers an easy way to do their part to go green.”

“With the help of Gazelle and Coca-Cola, Sodexo is proud to bring this new service to customers in our office and hospital cafés throughout the country,” says Stephen J. Brady, senior vice president of Sodexo Inc. and president of the Sodexo Foundation. “This program is a good partnership for Sodexo because it encourages thousands of people to engage in a simple act—recycling and trade-in—and has a positive impact on our company’s commitments to reduce waste, fight hunger, improve the environment, and promote community development.”
