Honey Dew's Pink Ribbons to Help Fight Breast Cancer

Honey Dew Donuts announced that it is continuing its initiative of supporting breast cancer awareness by sustaining a relationship with both The National Breast Cancer Foundation Inc. and the American Cancer Society. Once again, Honey Dew customers will be able to purchase paper pink ribbons for $1 at participating locations and Honey Dew Donuts will match all proceeds from the sale of the paper ribbons. All ribbon proceeds and the matching dollars will go directly to the National Breast Cancer Foundation.

After a flourishing event last year, Honey Dew has chosen to again sponsor the Survivor Tent at the October 2 American Cancer Society’s Making Strides Against Breast Cancer walk in Boston, and a Pink Ribbon Sponsor at the October 30 walk in Providence, Rhode Island.

In Boston, pink powdered Dew Drops, created specifically for the walk, and Honey Dew Donuts Supporting the Cause backpacks will be handed to everyone who visits the company at the tent (while supplies last). In addition, registered survivors will receive a special plantable book marker, a symbolic gift which signifies growth and life.

“Honey Dew Donuts has made the decision to continue to support and to sponsor The National Breast Cancer Foundation Inc. and the American Cancer Society’s Making Strides Against Breast Cancer walks,” says Richard Bowen, president and CEO of Honey Dew Associates Inc. “Both organizations have their own mission statement and agenda, but we all share the same fortitude and dedication in supporting the cause of breast cancer awareness and detection.”

To date, Honey Dew Donuts has donated in excess of over $300,000 toward breast cancer awareness with donations made yearly to The National Breast Cancer Foundation Inc. and the continued sponsorship of the American Cancer Society’s Making Strides Against Breast Cancer walks in Boston and Providence.

Honey Dew Donuts invites everyone to visit it at the Survivor Tent in Boston and stop by their local shop throughout the month of October and purchase a pink ribbon to help support breast cancer awareness.
