Gold Star Chili, the Official Chili of the NFL Cincinnati Bengals, is commemorating the 2010 football season with a new collectible glass offering a tribute to Bengals fans.

While Gold Star Chili has offered Bengals glasses in previous years, this year’s glass is distinctly different. Gold Star Chili commissioned nationally recognized artist C.F. Payne to create an original illustration that portrays the devotion and loyalty of Cincinnati Bengals fans. This four-year agreement with Payne calls for a new glass every year through 2013. Each illustration will focus on the rituals that Bengals fans observe every game day. The first glass in the series is entitled 2010 Tribute To Cincinnati Bengals Fans – Tailgating.

Beginning September 7, these glasses will be offered for sale in all Gold Star Chili restaurants, while supplies last. In order to increase collectors’ value, each store will receive only a limited number of glasses that will be sold for $2.99 with any food or beverage purchase, and for $3.99 as a stand-alone purchase. To encourage customers to buy a glass and drink from it frequently, Gold Star has branded this year’s glass, formerly known as the Bengals collector’s glass, MuchoDrinko.

“The best way to describe this year’s Bengals promotion is ‘pure Cincinnati and proud of it,’” says Gold Star Chili director of marketing Charlie Howard. Our hometown food and our hometown team commemorated by a famous hometown artist; what better way celebrate the football season with a uniquely Cincinnati flavor.”
