Huddle House, a 400-plus-unit family-dining restaurant, announced the opening of its first unit in Kansas City, Missouri, on Monday, December 17.

This is the first location of a three-unit Market Area Development agreement with Foodrich, LLC for the central and eastern suburbs of the Kansas City market.

The restaurant is located in the Melrose district, just five blocks north of The Plaza. This location will serve the breakfast, lunch, and dinner needs of the substantial medical community featuring several large Medical Center complexes. Huddle House will be the anchor for the mixed-use redevelopment project at 3957 Broadway.

“We are excited to open the Huddle House restaurant as the first phase of this mixed-use redevelopment project at 40th and Broadway, in the heart of the Melrose District,” says lead developer Dr. Ahmed Awad, assistant professor of medicine at the University of Missouri, Kansas City, and a nephrology consultant at St. Luke’s hospital.  “

The entire Westport community is looking forward to the wholesome, ‘Southern-Style Food’ that Huddle House is known for throughout the region,” he adds.

“Developing in large metro markets like Kansas City supports our strategy of increasing our brand presence in densely populated and underserved trade areas,” says Huddle House CEO Michael Abt. “Furthermore, we are particularly interested in targeting unique real-estate opportunities such as those presented by Dr. Awad.”
