In an IHOP world, moms rule. Call it the universal holiday, more than 96 percent of Americans celebrate Mother's Day in some form or another. With more than 82 million moms in the U.S., that makes Mother's Day one big celebration! This year, treat your mom to a sweet surprise by entering the IHOP "I HEART Mom" online essay contest. Between now and May 15, guests can submit their story in 250 words or less at www.ihop.com about why they HEART their mom and think she deserves a special meal at IHOP. Five winners will each receive a $100 IHOP gift card.

"IHOP offers a wide selection of breakfast, lunch and dinner items that are available any time of day, and today's busy moms know they can count on IHOP for a great meal and friendly service that satisfies the entire family," says Carolyn O'Keefe, IHOP's senior vice president, marketing. "In celebration of Mother's Day, we're pleased to offer our guests the opportunity to share why they feel their moms are so special."

IHOP offers other tasty ways to celebrate mom this Mother's Day, including a Never-Empty pot of IHOP's hot and fresh International House Roast Coffee and IHOP's new Strawberry Festival. Now through June at participating IHOPs, delight mom with three IHOP treats topped with the season's sweetest flavor: sweet strawberry crepes, pancakes, and new strawberry-stuffed French toast. Or, satisfy mom with an IHOP gift card that's perfect any time of day for any of IHOP's breakfast, lunch, and dinner items.

Complete IHOP "I HEART Mom" contest rules can be found at www.ihop.com. Entries can be submitted online beginning 12:01 a.m. PT May 1. The contest ends at 11:59 p.m. PT on May 15. Entries will be judged on three factors: entertainment, originality, and emotional impact. Winners will be notified by phone, postal mail, and/or email on or about May 22.
