Jack in the Box Inc. recognized the achievements of several franchise operators during the company’s annual franchisee conference, held last week in Lake Tahoe, California. Awards were presented for franchisee of the year (both system and regional) and developer of the year.

Jack in the Box, which is currently 41 percent franchise operated, is pursuing an initiative to expand its franchise operations through the sale of company-operated restaurants to franchisees, and through the development of new franchised restaurants. The company is on track with its long-term goal to increase franchise ownership to approximately 70 to 80 percent of its system.

“Having franchisees who are dedicated to the growth and success of the Jack in the Box brand is vitally important, especially as the company continues to evolve into a predominantly franchise business model,” says Mike Bamrick, vice president of franchising for Jack in the Box Inc. “The recipients of this year’s awards are all great brand ambassadors.”

The franchisees earning top systemwide awards this year included Fred Gibby, who operates 15 restaurants in Central California, as franchisee of the year; and Adam Gonzales, who operates 22 restaurants in the Reno, Nevada, and Colorado Springs, Colorado, areas, as developer of the year.
