Jamba At-Home smoothie advances the fruit and vegetable smoothie trend with the addition of two new varieties of dairy-free, gluten-free fruit and veggie blends this month. Blue Fusion and Red Fusion feature vitamin-rich vegetables, such as purple carrot, sweet potato, broccoli, and spinach, combined with fruits like dark cherries, strawberries, blueberries, and apples. When blended together from the convenience of home, the newest Jamba Fusion smoothies offer a great tasting, refreshing blast of nutrition.

Blue Fusion and Red Fusion will appear in the frozen section of grocery stores this month with widespread distribution expected in June. The new smoothie kits have a retail price of $2.99–$3.99 per 8-ounce bag; each package contains frozen fruit and vegetable blocks that, when blended with one cup of apple juice, make two 8-ounce servings.

“The smoothie has evolved from simple fruit and yogurt blends to full-on functional beverages featuring spinach, kale, and other veggies that boost nutritional value,” says Steve Sklar, senior vice president of marketing for Inventure Foods Inc. “Unfortunately, this functional approach often comes at the expense of taste. That’s not the case with our Fusion line of at home smoothie kits. In fact, these are some of the best-tasting smoothies we’ve ever developed, and they also happen to be dairy-free.”

Combining blueberry, banana, apple, blackberry, carrot, broccoli, and spinach ingredients, Blue Fusion delivers a smoothie suitable for any time of day. Red Fusion features a blend of red raspberry, strawberry, dark sweet cherry, purple carrot, and sweet potato ingredients to offer a beverage suitable as a post-workout refreshment or a better-for-you snack.

Both dairy-free smoothie blends provide a full serving of fruit with 130 calories (or less) per 8-ounce glass. Each serving also provides 100 percent of the recommended dietary allowance of vitamin C, 40 percent of vitamin A, and 25 percent of vitamins D, E, K, B1, and B6, according to Jamba.

Blue and Red Fusion join the Green Fusion blend, the categories’ first fruit and veggie smoothie, originally introduced to grocery stores last summer. In addition to the new Fusion blends, the Jamba At-Home line includes some of the retailer’s best-selling fruit smoothie blends, including Strawberries Wild, Razzmatazz, Caribbean Passion, Orange Dream Machine, and Mango-a-go-go.
