Jamba Juice Company, a leading healthy, active lifestyle brand, announced the launch of its first kids-focused offerings, the Jamba Kids Meals. The new kids’ meals were designed in partnership with the Jamba Healthy Living Council, and were informed by the U.S. Department of Agriculture's MyPlate dietary guidelines. They also have the highest whole-fruit servings of any leading quick-service restaurant kids’ meal.
Each meal contains two and one-half servings of fruits and/or vegetables, a serving of whole grains, and provides an excellent source of protein.
"The new Jamba Kids Meals are nutritious and delicious, on-the-go choices for children between the ages of four and eight," says nutrition expert and mother of three, Elizabeth M. Ward, MS, RD, author of MyPlate for Moms and How to Feed Yourself & Your Family Better, WebMD.com contributor, and Healthy Living Council member. "Plus, kids love to go to Jamba Juice and Jamba's new meals are nutritious choices that parents can feel good about giving to their kids—it's a win-win."
The Jamba Kids Meals include a 9.5-ounce smoothie paired with a child-friendly food choice. The smoothies have no added sugar and are made from only fruit and juice. The Berry Beet It! smoothie also contains vegetables. Adding even more fun for kids, the meals also come with stickers and a color-changing straw. The kids’ meal menu at Jamba Juice features four smoothies and two food options, which can be mixed and matched to make the Jamba Kids Meals:
· Cheesy Stuffed Pretzel
· Pizza Swirl with Turkey
· Strawberries Gone Bananas Smoothie
· Blueberry Strawberry Blast-off Smoothie
· Popp'in Peach Mango Smoothie
· Berry Beet It Smoothie
"As a leader in the smoothie and juice industry, Jamba Juice has been providing consumers with innovative and delicious on-the-go solutions for over 22 years and we are thrilled to introduce something new that is specially tailored to the needs of our youngest customers," says Julie S. Washington, senior vice president and chief brand officer at Jamba Juice Company. "The involvement of the Healthy Living Council in the development process and the resulting nutritional components of Jamba's Kids Meal reinforce Jamba's longstanding commitment to simplifying healthy living for the whole family."
