Jersey Mike’s Subs introduces a fresh approach to loyalty programs with its new Sub Club Rewards Program. Since the company launched the program in April, more than 200,000 members nationwide have signed on, providing Jersey Mike’s passionate fans with a “sub”erior experience that allows them to easily earn free subs and receive special offers.

It is the first loyalty membership program to incorporate a cardless alternative to membership identification and accumulation of points and rewards.

Members are offered the option to sign up using a traditional membership card with barcode (credit card size or keychain tag in the shape of a surfboard) or a mobile member ID tag and sticker that utilizes Near Field Communication (NFC) technology. In that case, when the tag or sticker is tapped to a reader at the register, a member is easily identified and points are added to their membership.

The two options offer virtually 100 percent participation as customers simply need a telephone number to sign up for the program.

Points are printed directly on every member receipt and can also be accessed online or with the Sub Club Mobile App for Androids and iPhones. Even without their tag or card, members can add points with a purchase simply by providing their phone number.

“Jersey Mike’s is a 56-year-old company using the latest technology to reward our loyal customers,” says Rich Hope, chief marketing officer, Jersey Mike’s Subs. “The Sub Club Rewards Program is getting rave reviews because it is a super convenient award system which allows our local store owners to connect directly with their best customers.”

The Sub Club was created and launched in-house by Jersey Mike’s and powered by SkyPop, the mobile marketing resource. A newly designed Mobile Marketing Platform provides important advantages to franchise owners who can deliver national, regional, or even hyper local messages to their customers through easy-to-use templates.

The dynamic real-time dashboard format offers Jersey Mike’s membership program managers a view of their membership profile and specific restaurant traffic and can be used to direct membership information, special offers, and ad campaigns to members via opt-in mobile phone text messaging services and/or the free Jersey Mike’s Sub Club mobile application, available for iPhone and Android phones.

Campaigns and messages can be targeted and directed down to the local Jersey Mike’s restaurant level through a variety of database integration techniques that match membership profiles, store affiliations, and reward levels with customized messages.

Another recent marketing milestone for Jersey Mike’s was the announcement of its first spokesperson in the company’s 56-year history: Christie Rampone, the Captain of the U.S. Women's National Soccer Team and Jersey Shore native. Rampone teamed up with the sub chain to create a free instructional soccer video series for children available at http://www.jerseymikes.com/christie

Rampone is also featured on a special Jersey Mike’s 24 ounce reusable plastic cup, known as the “Christie Cup,” as well as in other in-store and broader marketing elements.
