Jersey Mike's Subs Hosts Mentoring Program for Kids

Jersey Mike’s Subs partnered with the First Tee of Monmouth and Ocean Counties, the Township of Lakewood, and trick-shot golfer Dennis Walters to host a mentoring event at the John F. Patrick Sports Complex in Lakewood, New Jersey.

As part of its mission to provide mentoring and inspiration to children throughout the country, Jersey Mike’s also provided lunch to all the children who came from organizations including the Boys and Girls Club of Monmouth County, Interfaith Neighbors, Youth Corp of New Jersey, Lakewood Recreation Department, Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts, Big Brothers and Big Sisters, Holy Family, and Holy Spirit summer programs. Attendees heard the story of how founder and CEO Peter Cancro started Jersey Mike’s when he was only 17 and grew it to a national 400-store company. Additionally, Walters, the only professional golfer paralyzed from the waist down, hit trick golf shots and talked about his life and challenges.
