September 7, 2006 – Corner Bakery Cafe, a fast-casual bakery cafe with over 90 restaurants across the nation, has named Jim Vinz President, effective August 23, 2006. Mr. Vinz’s promotion adds more focused strategic and leadership responsibilities in addition to his role as Chief Operating Officer with the growth-oriented bakery cafe concept, which has experienced 16 consecutive quarters of comp store sales growth. Vinz joined Corner Bakery Cafe in 1995 as a multi-unit director. He was promoted to Regional Director in 1997 and Vice President of Operations in 1998. Under his direction the brand grew from five locations in Chicago to nearly 100 units today. He was promoted to Chief Operating Officer in 2005. “Jim is a fantastic leader, and his involvement has been instrumental in evolving Corner Bakery Cafe into one of the strongest brands in the restaurant industry,” said Mike Hislop, Chief Executive Officer of Corner Bakery Cafe. “His single minded focus on building the brand one guest at a time has helped to position Corner Bakery for aggressive growth over the next few years.” “The people of Corner Bakery Cafe are the real reasons for its success,” Vinz commented. “I look forward to continuing the commitment to build Corner Bakery Cafe into a ‘Best in Class’ brand.”
