Dunkin’ Donuts in Lexington, Kentucky, is teaming up with the American Red Cross and University of Kentucky basketball coach John Calipari’s “Hoops for Haiti” program with a special in-store fundraising initiative. For every dozen doughnuts sold at Lexington Dunkin’ Donuts between January 25–31, $1 will be donated to the American Red Cross and go toward supporting the ongoing relief and recovery efforts in Haiti.

“We have been greatly humbled by the disaster in Haiti and even more so by the overwhelming response from the people of central Kentucky during Coach Cal’s ‘Hoops for Haiti’ Telethon,” says Collier Mills, franchisee and operating partner of Fast Break Doughnuts LLC. “Our crew members wanted to help the relief efforts—and this is a small way for us to get involved from afar.”

“We are delighted to be in partnership with Dunkin’ Donuts and so many other great organizations in our community,” says Winn Stephens, director of development for the Bluegrass Area Chapter of the American Red Cross. “The outpouring of support we have received has been truly amazing. Contributions like those being made by Dunkin’ Donuts will help save lives and make a difference.”
