Kronos Foods Inc., a manufacturer of premium gyros and other Mediterranean and specialty foods, announced the appointment of Howard Eirinberg as president of its subsidiary Kronos Food Corp., effective immediately. He joins the Kronos Foods management team of Michael B. Austin, CEO; T. Patrick Costello, president and COO; and Janet Caldwell, CFO.

In his position, Eirinberg will lead all Kronos sales and marketing initiatives for the company’s wide-ranging operations in meat, bakery, dairy, dessert, restaurant, and distribution.

“We are excited to have Howard join Kronos and believe his nearly 30 years of experience in growing branded and private-label consumer food products for national food companies will be instrumental in helping us achieve our long-term goals,” says Kronos CEO Austin. “Howard is an extraordinary leader, an innovative marketing strategist, and a savvy merchandiser with a unique combination of management, marketing, and operational experience.”

Eirinberg, 51, comes to Kronos from Vienna Beef Ltd., the Chicago-based manufacturer of hotdogs, sausages, and other specialty foods, where he served for eight years as president and COO, overseeing the company’s national foodservice and retail businesses. During his tenure at Vienna Beef, Eirinberg was instrumental in the successful development and introduction of new products into new channels, new customers, and in enhancing the company’s brand awareness.

Before that, Eirinberg ran the foodservice division of Fresh Express, a fresh cut vegetable processor, and held senior sales and marketing positions at salad dressings manufacturer Richelieu Foods Inc. and at The Quaker Oats Co.

Eirinberg holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Marketing from the University of Illinois in Urbana-Champaign, and an MBA from the Kellogg Graduate School of Management at Northwestern University in Evanston, Illinois.
