Little Greek announces an accelerated growth plan. With the opening of its new upscale prototype last week in the high-end South Tampa market in Florida, Little Greek will have doubled in size from four to eight locations since former Beef ‘O’ Brady's president, Nick Vojnovic, formed a partnership with founder Sigrid Bratic last May.

An additional St. Petersburg location is slotted to open in four weeks, with the 10th location under negotiation in Boca Raton, Florida.

"I am very pleased with the strong sales growth all of the stores are showing,” Vojnovic says. “[The] system average is up 20 percent, with the Dallas location leading the way with a 60 percent increase in sales over the previous year.”

Another six stores are in the pipeline. The Tampa market is nearing a capacity of 15 locations.

"Sigrid created a wonderful concept that has resonated strongly with guests enjoying the freshly prepared healthy Greek dishes from scratch,” Vojnovic says. “We have trimmed back non-Greek items from the menu and upgraded the look and feel of the restaurants to match the high quality of the food.”

Little Greek is now projecting 12 stores by the end of the year, with eight openings scheduled for 2013.

"We believe that the Greek/Mediterranean segment is poised to explode in the United States as Americans discover this healthy, delicious cuisine,” Vojnovic says.
