Long John Silver’s introduces the Big Catch; a wild-caught Haddock three times the size in weight of their signature whitefish. Although the size is greater, the price remains a big value with a basket meal offered at $4.99.

The Big Catch is a big menu item for Long John Silver’s not just in size, but also in value,” says Charles St. Clair, chief marketing officer. “It’s the largest fish we have ever offered weighing in at seven to eight ounces of 100 percent premium Haddock caught in the icy waters of the North Atlantic.”

The large size of the Big Catch required the creation of special packaging. The $4.99 basket will include the Big Catch, a choice of a side, and hush puppies. Other meal options include a combo with a drink or a platter with two sides, two hush puppies, and four large shrimp.

Long John Silver’s has been a strong brand since our doors opened in 1969, and we are proud to be continuously adding new menu items at an affordable price our customers love,” St. Clair says. “The Big Catch is a premium menu item with the classic taste that Long John Silver’s is known for.”

The premium batter-dipped Big Catch will be offered in Long John Silver’s restaurants nationwide on May 27 continuing through July 2013, or while supplies last. Long John Silver’s will announce the sizable menu item to customers through a national advertising campaign that kicked off Sunday and includes print, TV, outdoor and social media.
