Lovin’ Spoons Hires Industry Vet for Franchise Development
Lovin’ Spoons, a growing frozen yogurt company based in Savannah, has announced the appointment of Steven Bryan as vice president of franchise development.
A certified franchise executive, Bryan joins Lovin’ Spoons with more than 30 years of industry experience. He previously served as a regional development manager for Kilwins Franchise, handling franchise recruitment and real estate development for the Southeast and Mid-Atlantic states. Bryan was also vice president of franchise development for Mrs. Fields Famous Brand, where he helped develop new locations for the nationally recognized company.
Before that, he served as the senior vice president of operations and marketing for Texas-based Deblan Corporation, the largest franchisee of Great American Cookies.
In his new role with Lovin’ Spoons, Bryan will develop growth and recruitment strategies and handle outreach to franchise prospects.
“Steven brings an extremely strong business background to Lovin’ Spoons,” says president and founder Diane Kahn. “His experience in managing all aspects of a franchise business, ranging from building brands to closing deals and leveraging strategic relationships, will be invaluable to our continued growth and success.”
Now with four locations, Lovin’ Spoons has been shaking up the Southeast’s frozen yogurt scene since the launch of its first store in Savannah in November 2010. Before opening it, Kahn spent a year researching yogurt shops nationwide, developing best practices that focus on a premium product, strong customer service etiquette, store cleanliness and creative branding.
By pairing that business approach with a 1970s-inspired ambiance and décor, including a vintage Volkswagen Beetle in every store, the Lovin’ Spoons concept has proven a huge hit with dessert lovers in Georgia and South Carolina.
Bryan joins Lovin’ Spoons only weeks after the company announced a partnership with Freshëns Quality Brands. That alliance paved the way for the development of an exclusive Lovin’ Spoons yogurt lineup that was unveiled in stores in June.
Together, the two companies developed 35 flavors, which include healthy low-fat, fat-free, non-dairy sorbets and sugar-free options specifically formulated to meet the diverse customer base.
“This is an exciting time to join Lovin’ Spoons,” Bryan says. “They have a great product, a unique atmosphere, and a wonderful and dynamic leadership presence in Diane. I look forward to helping shape this emerging brand and further growing their footprint across the Southeast and beyond.”
