Mann Packing Company is debuting a lettuce varietal tasting at the upcoming International Foodservice Editorial Council Conference (IFEC) in Portland, Oregon.

Earlier this year, Mann commissioned a study through Technomic Inc., an independent research company, to better understand consumer preference trends in fresh lettuce served at restaurants. The company will share some of the results of the study at IFEC and give conference attendees a chance to sample some of the unique lettuces the company grows and sells, such as Mann’s Better Burger Leaf, Mann’s Arcadian Harvest Classic, Mann’s Arcadian Harvest Emerald, and Mann’s Arcadian Harvest Ruby Blend.

In addition, Mann Packing is introducing two new gourmet whole head lettuces, one is a new variety for the foodservice market.

“What we learned from consumers about lettuce is revolutionary and we look forward to gathering information from the conference attendees as well,” says Gina Nucci, director of healthy culinary innovation. “Mann is the new lettuce expert; we have a lettuce product for every foodservice application need and we look forward to showcasing our lettuce line at IFEC.”

In addition to the lettuce tasting, Mann will be serving an Herbaceous Steak Salad made with Mann’s Arcadian Harvest Ruby Blend lettuce during the Tuesday afternoon break out session; the recipe was the recent winner of a Sensory Experience recipe contest held by the produce industry.

Burgerville, a Portland-based burger chain, features Mann’s Better Burger Leaf on its burgers and Mann’s Arcadian Harvest Classic in salads.
