Marco’s Adds Spinach with Launch of LTO Pizza

With a new recipe that combines Italian and Mediterranean flavors, Marco’s Pizza, branded as the “Ah!thentic Italian Pizza” company, will introduce the Grilled Chicken Florentine pizza on March 24. Grilled Chicken Florentine is a limited-time offering as a complement to their lineup of premium chicken specialty pizzas. The new Grilled Chicken Florentine is a recipe of tender grilled chicken, parmesan garlic sauce, four cheeses including Feta, with red onions, tomatoes, and spinach, a new topping being added to the Marco’s menu.

Marco’s will celebrate the launch of the new Grilled Chicken Florentine pizza by supporting National Spinach Day on March 26. At participating stores, Marco’s is encouraging customers to trade in one can of spinach for one free medium Grilled Chicken Florentine pizza made with fresh spinach, limit one per family. The company will deliver the cans of spinach collected in the trade to local community food banks.

“At Marco’s Pizza, we are always thinking of new ways to enhance the customer pizza experience, and the addition of fresh spinach to our menu and a lineup of delicious premium chicken specialty pizzas does just that,” says Cathy Hull, Marco’s chief marketing officer. “We are especially excited to introduce our new Grilled Chicken Florentine pizza as consumer appeal for Mediterranean flavors continues to grow. The flavor profile of our new pizza is sure to please consumer taste buds.”

Part of what makes this pizza extra special is the creator of the recipe. Alex Yashchishia, a general manager at Marco’s Pizza in Madison, Alabama, was the winner of the annual pizza contest held by the company. Yashchishia has been an employee of Marco’s Pizza since 2008, when he started as a pizza delivery driver. The 37-year-old has a background in the restaurant industry and a passion for cooking for over 20 years.

For more than 35 years, Marco’s has been known for its never-frozen dough made daily in stores, a proprietary cheese blend, and a secret pizza sauce recipe. Founded by a native Italian, Marco’s has made its name in the growing $40 billion pizza industry.
