Tulsa-based Mazzio’s Italian Eatery, a fast casual pizza concept with 155 units throughout the Midwest, opened its first East Coast location March 11 in Alexandria, Virginia.

Mazzio’s offers an extensive menu featuring a wide variety of pizza, pasta, salad, and sandwich options, including specialty pizzas, a “create your own” pizza, a 30+ item salad bar, baked pastas, calzone rings, toasted hoagies, and dessert pizza.
 
The new restaurant is located at 6305A Richmond Highway and is operated by franchise owners Raj and Alka Ghandi. The restaurant is an end cap location in a new shopping center at the intersection of Kings Highway and Richmond Highway. The interior features booths and banquette seating, tables, and chairs with family-friendly themed artwork.
 
“We were looking to provide a new food experience to this area and really liked the Mazzio’s concept,” says Raj Ghandi. “Mazzio’s is a strong company with great food at a great price.”
 
According to Mazzio’s president and CEO Greg Lippert, the Mazzio’s menu has been redesigned to cater to the tastes of East Coast diners.
 
“We have made a real effort to incorporate the tastes and flavors of Virginia into our new menu here, and I believe our customers will be pleased with the result,” says Lippert. “We are excited to introduce our brand and food to the East Coast, and we look forward to developing more units in this area.”
 
Mazzio’s new menu features a wide variety of specialty pizzas and sandwiches:
 
·Mazzio’s Specialty Pizzas are created on thin or hand tossed crust with the options of Mazzio’s Works, Lucky 7, Pepperoni Trio, Chicken Club, The Islander, Meat Feast, Margherita, Veggie, Napoli, Chicken Spinach Alfredo, Sweet & Spicy BBQ, Mediterranean, and Chicken Alfredo. The Specialty Pizzas are available in 9” and 15” for $8.99 and $13.49.
 
·The Toasted Hoagies, a new addition to the menu, include an Italian Sub, California Club, Turkey Bacon and Ranch, Ham and Cheddar, Hot Tuna Melt, and Chicken, Bacon, and Swiss. All sandwiches are served on a toasted whole grain hoagie roll with choice of chips or fries and a pickle for $7.99.
 
Mazzio’s new Alexandria restaurant will be open for dine-in or carry out, with store hours from 10:30 a.m. to 10 p.m. daily. A pizza and salad bar buffet will be available Monday through Friday from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. and Tuesday night from 5-8 p.m. The lunch buffet is $7.99 and dinner buffet is $8.99. 
 
The restaurant’s general manager is Ratan Barua and manager is Abraham Peredo.
