Muscle Maker Grill, the rapidly growing fast-casual restaurant brand, which promotes a healthy lifestyle by offering its guests a nutritious alternative to traditional dishes, announced that it has been acquired by Irvine, California-based Muscle Maker Inc., an affiliated company of American Restaurant Holdings Inc. (ARHI), owner and operator of restaurant concepts including Fronteras Mexican Grill, Fresca’s Mexican Grill, Canyon Fireside Grille, and JoJo’s Pizza Kitchen.  The strategic partnership will provide the Muscle Maker Grill brand with the resources to provide additional support to current franchisees, and to increase the number of its corporate-owned stores and the ability for expansion in new and existing markets.

Founded in 1995 by Rod Silva, Muscle Maker Grill’s diverse menu was created for everyone—fitness enthusiasts, those starting their journey to a healthier lifestyle, and people trying to eat better while on-the-go. Providing “Great Food with Your Health in Mind,” Muscle Maker Grill’s menu features items with grass-fed beef and all-natural chicken, as well as options that satisfy most dietary preferences—from vegetarians to the carb-free consumer and guests following a gluten-free diet. More than just food, Muscle Maker Grill restaurants provide a relaxed and social environment where guests can engage with fellow health enthusiasts in their area.

“We are pleased to announce the acquisition of Muscle Maker Grill locations nationwide,” says Tim M. Betts, CEO of American Restaurant Holdings Inc.  “Our plan is to build upon the great brand and footprint that Muscle Maker Grill has established over the years. Our priorities are to work closely with our current franchisees, continue franchise growth, and development and open more corporate locations in both new and existing markets. We look forward to continuing the expansion of the Muscle Maker Grill brand nationwide.”

“Our team is thrilled to partner with American Restaurant Holdings and feels that they can provide significant capital to assist in the growth of the Muscle Maker Grill brand,” says Rod Silva, founder of Muscle Maker Grill. We look forward to working closely with Tim and his team to continue to expand while building on our 20-year legacy of offering “Great Food with Your Health in Mind.”
