Nestlé Toll House Café by Chip celebrated the opening of its first location in Plano, Texas, on Saturday, February 1. The café, located in the center court of Collin Creek Mall, is the second of 18 new cafés set to open under a long-term master lease agreement signed in October 2013 with Rouse Properties Inc., a national owner and operator of regional enclosed malls.

Local franchisee Venkata Kanyaboyina signed an agreement to open a second Nestle Toll House Café at Town East Mall in Mesquite, Texas.

“Let’s face it, there aren’t many things in life more enjoyable than a warm, freshly baked Nestle Toll House cookie,” Kanyaboyina says. “If the aroma doesn’t hook you, your first bite will. And when you pair it with a cup of hot and delicious premium coffee, it’s like going on a mini-vacation. That brief, indulgent escape is what we want to deliver to the shoppers here at Collin Creek Mall, along with our crepes, panini sandwiches, and other tasty treats.”

The new café is just the second in the country to feature Nestle Toll House Café’s enhanced kiosk concept, including soft seating, digital menus displayed on eight LED screens, and an upgraded design that showcases the brand’s distinctive product offerings in a more efficient and attractive manner.

“Every new café opening is exciting, but Collin Creek is extra special because it’s one of the first to open under our alliance with Rouse Properties,” says Shawnon Bellah, senior vice president of international operations for Nestle Toll House Cafe. “Our brand is growing rapidly, but strategically, here in the United States as well as in Canada and overseas. Having a partner like Rouse that gives us entrée to the center courts of nearly 20 leading malls is a tremendous asset to our company.”
