Newk's Digs Into Pair of Mac and Cheese LTOs

Newk’s Express Café has added two new macaroni and cheese dishes to the menu for a limited time. The fast-casual restaurant is offering Four Cheese and Pimiento with Bacon as side dishes or entrees through the spring.

The four-cheese version contains macaroni noodles blended into a combination of Asiago, white Cheddar, Parmesan, and Swiss cheeses and baked to a golden brown.

Pimiento with Bacon is a blend of Asiago, white Cheddar, Parmesan, and Swiss cheeses layered between two layers of Newk’s own Pimiento cheese recipe and topped with bacon.

Starting March 1, guests can also add crawfish to either version of the dish.

“The new mac and cheese dishes are our special take on a classic comfort food,” says Chris Newcomb, cofounder and CEO. “These limited-time offers are a perfect fit with the rest of our menu. They stand alone as delicious entrees and also make a great addition to a sandwich or salad.”

Newk’s Express Café provides an express casual-dining experience and features a variety of made-to-order choices, including fresh-tossed salads, oven-baked sandwiches, California-style pizzas, made-from-scratch soups, and homemade cakes baked by Newk’s Bakery Company.

A selection of wines by the glass and beer is also available at select locations.

Since opening its first location in Oxford, Missssippi, in 2004, Newk’s has expanded its presence to 11 states, including Alabama, Arkansas, Florida, Georgia, Louisiana, Michigan, Mississippi, Missouri, North Carolina, Tennessee, and Texas.

Newk's has more than 50 restaurants, and more than 40 are franchised. Projections call for 10 new restaurants to open in 2013.
