Newk’s Eatery is bringing its signature brand of fresh, flavorful dining to the Northgate community with the debut of its second restaurant in the capital City. Located adjacent to Louisiana State University, the fast-casual restaurant will be opening its doors on Monday, June 8 at 11 a.m.—the second Newk’s to be unveiled in the Baton Rouge area since March, following the opening of Newk’s Towne Center location. Plans for a third Baton Rouge Newk’s Eatery are still under review. Within the next year, Newk’s expects to expand its footprint in the state by five company and franchise-owned restaurants, bringing the brand’s total number of Louisiana-based locations to nine.
“We selected this location because our casual restaurant brand is built on fresh, flavorful meals whose interesting ingredient combinations and generous portions will appeal to the local Northgate community, including neighboring university students and staff,” says Chris Newcomb, Newk’s co-founder and CEO. “With entrées ranging in average price from $6 to $12—each hand-crafted in our open-view kitchen using premium ingredients—we look forward to engaging local diners around the table at our prime campus-side location for a gourmet-inspired dining experience that is a great value.”
Positioned on 3332 Lake Street in the former Mr. Gatti’s building, Newk’s Northgate restaurant will offer indoor dining for 150 guests and patio dining for nearly 70 more in its roughly 4,200 square-foot space. Combined with Newk’s Towne Center location, the two restaurants will provide job opportunities for close to 100 applicants within the area.
The fast-casual restaurant delivers lunch to the table or to the office with its robust catering service and offers guests flavorful meals on the go with its convenient Grab-N-Go and online ordering options.
The Jackson, Mississippi-based Newk’s Eatery currently has nearly 80 locations in 13 states and plans to expand to more than 200 units by the end of 2018. Newk’s is featured on Technomic’s list of top 50 fast casual chains nationwide.
