Opening day on June 22, was a roaring success in the small town of Houma, Louisiana. “It seemed the whole parish came out to try our food,” say owners Sonya Ohlmeyer and Tracey Hebert. They expected the soft opening to go well, but this far exceeded their expectations. The lines for lunch were to the door. There were some long wait times for food, but customers understood that it was the first day and there would be some growing pains. As one customer wrote on the NY Bagel Houma Facebook page, it was “Worth the wait!”

It wasn’t just a great opening day. It ended up being a great opening week for them as the crowds continued to gather daily and have continued since. The folks in Houma just can’t seem to get enough of New York Bagel Café & Deli.

The successful opening of its Houma location has opened many doors for NY Bagel Café. “The reception the brand has received here has been astounding. We are receiving multiple calls a day from individuals wanting to purchase a franchise,” says Joe Smith, CEO NY Bagel Enterprises.
