NYPD Pizza, a locally owned and operated family pizza kitchen, signed a lease this week to open its 11th location in the heart of downtown Tempe. The newest NYPD Pizza restaurant will open this summer at the Northwest corner of 3rd Street and Mill Avenue.

“NYPD Pizza makes a great product – I know that from personal experience,” says Tempe mayor Mark Mitchell. “They will be a terrific addition to downtown Tempe.”

Rich Stark, CEO of NYPD Pizza, says, “Mill Avenue is bustling like it never has before, and we are excited to be a part of the neighborhood’s renaissance.”

Situated directly in front of the Mill Avenue/3rd Street Light Rail Stop, NYPD Pizza’s Mill Avenue restaurant is less than one mile away from ASU, which has a student population of more than 75,000. The area is also a major corporate hub with approx. 140,000 employees within a 3-mile radius from companies like US Airways, Honeywell, and Chase Bank. Attractions nearby include ASU Gammage, Tempe Center for the Arts, and over 100 events held annually at Tempe Town Lake and the 25-acre Tempe Beach Park.

“Tempe is a dining and entertainment destination unlike any other in town, and we are pleased to offer our made-from-scratch pizzas, salads, and pastas for everyone coming to Mill Avenue,” Stark adds.

The New York-style pizzeria will now begin the build out of the new space. NYPD Pizza most recently unveiled its newly remodeled location at Camelback & 20th Street in Phoenix this past December, and opened a location at 7th Avenue & McDowell in Phoenix in the year prior. Recent milestones also include the launch of NYPD Uptown Amber Ale, which has become the restaurant’s top selling craft brew, and the roll out of its gluten-free menu to all locations.
