Raising Cane’s Ohio Limited recently received the honorable 2009 Community Partner Award from the American Red Cross Central Ohio Blood Services Region for the company’s commitment to helping people in need.

Throughout the past year, Raising Canes Chicken Fingers has supported 17 Red Cross blood drives—generating 1,340 donations and saving a potential of 4,020 lives.

“Raising Cane’s has shown outstanding commitment to serving the community through their support of the mission of the American Red Cross,” says Rodney Wilson, marketing strategy officer for Raising Cane’s. “Not only do they provide the food for donors, but they also show personal dedication by setting up their equipment and working at the drives, handing the food to each donor themselves.”

Throughout the year, Raising Cane’s partnered with the blood program, and its mission to help patients in need, by providing free food, drink, and coupons on-site to entice people to give the gift of life. Their efforts have supported blood drives on the Ohio State University campus, throughout the Columbus area, and media-sponsored drives held at key points in the year.

“The Red Cross is tremendous organization that impacts each life it touches, and we are honored to be a part of their team,” says Tim McCarthy, Raising Cane’s Ohio Limited partner in business development. “I am also proud of every crew member who dedicated their time and energy to staff the blood drives. They helped make each event stronger and better than the last.”
