Jimmy John’s Gourmet Sandwiches has consistently opened almost 200 units per year for the last three years. Today, Jimmy John’s reached a milestone by opening its 1,000th unit in Beaverton, Oregon. With an additional 1,500 or so units in the pipeline, it doesn’t look like they will be slowing down anytime soon.

Jimmy John Liautaud, 46-year-old founder of Jimmy John’s, credits the success to tenacious operators and precision execution, producing a chain whose growth represents a fact that 80 percent of all units are opened by current owners.

“It’s been a hell of a journey,” Liautaud says. “My team is best in class. My operators take ownership, and myself and my team are having a blast.”

To help celebrate this momentous occasion and thank the fans who have shown Jimmy John’s a lot of love over the years, one lucky fan is going to win a gift card worth 1,000 free subs.

“Maybe someday I’ll get invited to MUFSO (Multi-Unit Foodservice Operators), where all the professionals celebrate their genius,” Liautaud says. “Until then, we will just keep opening stores and learning how to do it like the pros do. We’re pumped to celebrate this milestone by giving back to the people who matter to us the most—our customers—with the ‘1,000 Subs for 1,000 Shops’ sweepstakes.”

Fans can enter the promotion through the “1,000 Subs for 1,000 Shops” application on the Jimmy John’s Facebook platform until April 30. Fans can find the application on the “1,000 Subs” tab on the Jimmy John’s Page on Facebook.
