Panda Restaurant Group, operator of more than 600 restaurants under the Panda Express, Panda Inn, and Hibachi-San names, has launched a retail line in grocery and club stores. The first two products in the line — beef with broccoli and mandarin chicken — have been available in select Costco and Sam’s Club stores, among others, since October. Additional items are currently in development, according to the company.

“Panda Express has built a strong relationship with our customers over the past 20 years, and the success of this retail line reflects the power of the brand,” said David Landesberg, Panda vp of business planning, in a statement. “There is clearly a need for top-quality frozen Chinese meals.”

Panda is developing and marketing the new retail line as part of a joint venture with Overhill Farms, a supplier of frozen foods to foodservice customers.
