Oak Brook, IL—Today, McDonald’s Corporation announced an exclusive partnership with Bob Greene, exercise physiologist, best-selling author, and regular on The Oprah Winfrey Show. Greene will serve as a spokesperson for McDonald’s Healthy Lifestyles program. His role primary role in the program’s implementation will be as the public face of the initiative, as McDonald’s seeks to educate the public about the importance of living a healthy, active life.

Educational booklets and trayliners, developed in part by Greene, will be available at McDonald’s units. Greene is also expected to host a series of high-profile activities, including speaking engagements and appearances.

“I truly embrace McDonald’s Healthy Lifestyles initiatives and applaud the company’s leadership on this important mission,” said Greene in a release today. “I am excited to work with McDonald’s to help clear up the misconceptions on fad diets and overzealous workouts, and educate people on leading healthy, active lives—realistically and long-term.

McDonald’s Healthy Lifestyles program is an ongoing campaign that uses three key strategies focused on menu choice, education, and physical activity. “At McDonald’s , we have a longstanding commitment to our customers…and a strong social responsibility record,” says Ken Barun, McDonald’s corporate vice president who leads McDonald’s Healthy Lifestyles activities. “We are thrilled to partner with Bob Greene.
