Jack in the Box Inc. today announced that Paul D. Melancon has joined the company as vice president and controller. He will be responsible for overseeing the company’s general accounting, financial reporting and financial services activities.

Melancon most recently served as vice president and corporate controller for Guess?, Inc. A veteran corporate finance and business operations executive with nearly three decades of financial and accounting management experience, Melancon previously served as senior vice president and chief financial officer of Hyper Entertainment Inc., a subsidiary of Sony Corporation of America. He also spent nearly 10 years with Sears, Roebuck and Co., most recently as vice president of finance for the company’s Sears Tire Group. Melancon began his career in 1978 with PriceWaterhouseCoopers LLP.

Melancon, a certified public accountant, has a bachelor’s degree in accounting from the University of Texas and an MBA from the University of Chicago.
