Pei Wei Asks Fans to Get Creative with New Chicken Dish

Pei Wei Asian Diner, the fast-casual restaurant concept by P.F. Chang’s, is challenging fans to get creative with Asian flavors by hosting a photo contest on Instagram, the popular social photo network.

Pei Wei will be giving away one $500 gift card every day from January 28 until February 3, 2013, to the person who submits the most creative photo each day, featuring the ingredients that create the bold flavors found in the upcoming new Black Pepper Chicken, a dish that will be available beginning February 4, 2013.

The instructions are simple: Get creative with Pei Wei’s ingredients featured in the upcoming new Singapore-inspired dish, Black Pepper Chicken. Fans can make something, whether it’s food, art, or anything else. Pei Wei’s ingredients are the canvas.

They then take a photo of their creation and upload it to Instagram with the hashtag #BlackPepperChicken for a chance to win. Entries will be judged on use of the key ingredient, originality, production value, and style.

Those without Instagram can submit their photos via a tab on Pei Wei’s Facebook page.

“Our dishes at Pei Wei are so full of bright, colorful ingredients that Instagram and food photography are a natural and fun space for our guests to play in,” says Pei Wei president K.C. Moylan. “The only thing required to enter is a camera, a love of fresh Asian food, and creativity.”

The new Singapore-inspired Black Pepper Chicken is composed of coarse ground black pepper, accented with a rich soy sauce and wok-tossed with asparagus, tomatoes, green bell peppers, and onions.

It is finished with Thai basil and cilantro. Entrants may choose one or all of the ingredients to play with or get inspired by when entering the contest.

Black Pepper Chicken will be available from February 4 to May 5, 2013.
