Confucius once said, “Every restaurant’s destiny is pre-ordained by three virtues: location, location, location.”

We found that on the Internet, so it must be true. But in any event, we’re pretty sure there’s wisdom in those words.

Which explains why the Pie Five Pizza restaurant at Knox and I-75 in Dallas is taking a more enlightened approach and relocating to 5927Greenville Ave. The “new” restaurant will officially open for business on Monday, October 7, at 11:00 a.m.

Chris Smith, Pie Five’s vice president of operations, has never studied Eastern philosophy, but he has nevertheless seen the light and is excited about the new location.

“We were doing well at Knox; but the truth is, it just wasn’t an easily accessible location,” Smith says. “By moving just a bit further north to Greenville Avenue, we’ll be able to serve a whole lot more Pie Five fans.”

At Pie Five, guests can choose from more than a million combinations of handcrafted pizzas and a variety of specialty pie choices prepared in less than five minutes on one of four crusts. The rapidly expanding chain is capitalizing on growing consumer demand for fresh dining options and artisan pizzas.

This weekend, the new Greenville Ave. restaurant will host private events to raise funds for the North Texas Food Bank. On Monday, general manager Jeni Gillispie will present a check to the NTFB during the grand opening ceremony at 10:30 a.m. In addition, the first 25 guests in line before 11:00 a.m. will receive a free $50 Pie Five gift card.

A subsidiary of Pizza Inn Holdings Inc., Pie Five has been named one of “10 Hot New Restaurant Chains from Established Brands” by Forbes.com.

Pie Five has 12 locations in Texas and one each in Kansas, North Carolina, and Utah. Total announced franchise restaurants under contract currently number 105 in Florida, Kansas, Kentucky, Maryland, Missouri, Nebraska, Oklahoma, North Carolina, Texas, Utah, and Virginia. Last week, Pie Five announced plans to open 10 new company-owned locations in the Houston area.

The new location on Greenville Ave will be open daily from 11:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m.
