Pie Five Pizza Co., announced a new development deal that will open up to 24 new locations across multiple northeastern states. Local Pie Five franchisee, Mashoor Awad, will be developing the Pie Five Pizza brand across the northeast area including the state of Delaware, Eastern Pennsylvania/Philadelphia, Northern Maryland, and Southern New Jersey. The first location, slated to open this fall, will be in Dover, Delaware. Additional locations in Montgomery County, Pennsylvania and Cherry Hill, New Jersey are also in the planning stages.
Mashoor, who currently owns six IHOP restaurants and was previously a successful Subway franchisee, sees Pie five as a natural fit for the region.
“People love pizza everywhere but schedules are changing and people are busy,” Awad says. “Pie Five caters to today’s consumer who craves quality but wants it fast. I think it will be a big hit in the Northeast.”
Pie Five’s unique fast casual model allows patrons to customize a personal, handcrafted pizza, choosing from a selection of fresh, artisan ingredients. The masterfully crafted pizzas are cooked in a custom-designed, state-of-the-art pizza oven in 145 seconds. Pie Five offers customers millions of ingredient combinations along with four crust types from dough made in-house daily (artisan thin, classic pan, whole-grain Neapolitan, and gluten free), seven sauces, five cheeses, and 28 fresh meat and vegetable toppings. Additionally, guests can add one of Pie Five’s freshly tossed hand-made salads served in a baked pizza dough bowl or a decadent home-baked brownie or cookie pie. All recipes were created by Pie Five’s lead “Pie-Intist,” Patty Scheibmeir, the original inventor of the stuffed crust pizza.
