Pie Five Spreads Like Wildfire Through DFW Area

It started innocently enough, with a single restaurant in Fort Worth opening in 2011. Then came a second, and a third…

Apparently the Metroplex can’t get enough of Pie Five Pizza, so the rapidly growing concept will bring its 12th DFW-area restaurant to 2645 East Southlake Blvd in Southlake, near Dragon Stadium, on Monday, September 16, at 11:00 a.m.

Rebecca Rankin, general manager of the chain’s seventh new location to open this year, can’t wait to introduce the Southlake community to the fast-casual concept.

“Word is spreading around DFW that Pie Five is a truly better way to experience your favorite pizza,” says Rankin, who transferred from the Pie Five on Camp Bowie in Fort Worth. “Once people come in and see how easy it is to get their own perfect pizza with whatever toppings they want all for one great price, they’re hooked. Then they tell their friends about us. That’s one of the reasons I enjoy working here so much. We’re like a cool new discovery that people love to share.”

At Pie Five, guests can choose from more than a million combinations of handcrafted pizzas and a variety of specialty pie choices prepared in less than five minutes on one of four crusts. The rapidly expanding chain is capitalizing on growing consumer demand for fresh dining options and artisan pizzas.

Prior to Monday’s official opening, the new Southlake restaurant will host private events to raise funds for Grapevine Relief And Community Exchange (GRACE), a Grapevine-based non-profit relief agency that provides assistance for individuals and families in crisis. Rankin will present a check to GRACE representatives during the grand opening ceremony at 10:30 a.m. on Monday. The Southlake Chamber of Commerce will also be on-hand for the official ribbon cutting.

Pie Five Pizza Co., a subsidiary of Pizza Inn Holdings Inc., has been named one of “10 Hot New Restaurant Chains from Established Brands” by Forbes.com.

With the Southlake opening, Pie Five will have 12 locations in Texas and one each in Kansas, North Carolina, and Utah. Total announced franchise restaurants under contract currently number 105 in Florida, Kansas, Maryland, Missouri, Nebraska, Oklahoma, North Carolina, Texas, Utah, and Virginia.

Southlake’s first Pie Five restaurant will be open daily from 11:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m.
