Responding to families' needs for quick, easy solutions and desire for more balanced food options, Pizza Hut, Inc. is the first national pizza company to launch pre-packaged, family-size salads for delivery and carry-out nationwide, the company announced today. The Fresh Express Ranch Salad Kits, which serve a family of four, include romaine and iceberg lettuce, cabbage, and carrots with Ranch dressing. The kits are available starting February 28 for $2.99.

According to a statement, research conducted by Pizza Hut shows that mothers liked the idea of "serving something green on the plate." According to the Pizza Hut research with mothers and kids, Ranch is the number one salad dressing.

According to Tom James, chief marketing officer, Pizza Hut: "Any parent will tell you, it can be tough to get kids to eat their vegetables without a fight. Moms told us they wanted to balance pizza with a great tasting salad, but without all the fuss of making it. These bagged salad kits give moms an easy, prepared, fresh solution that complements our pizzas, and we bring it to her."

Fresh Express is one of the world's largest producers and distributors of fresh salads. "Fresh Express is a strong brand and a brand moms recognize and trust," James said. "We are delivering the same salad kits available in grocery stores as one more convenience for moms who are trying to balance a hectic lifestyle while getting dinner on the table."
