Shelton Restaurant Group LLC, an Alexandria,Louisiana-based Popeyes Louisiana Kitchen franchisee, selects Syrus Restaurant Information Services, the provider of restaurant information technology, to provide back-office service and software to 30 Popeyes locations.

With the recent addition of 29 Popeyes units in the Lafayette, Louisiana, and Beaumont, Texas, areas and future growth plans, Shelton Restaurant Group LLC wanted a back-office solution that could integrate with multiple types of POS systems and different food purveyors and give them an accurate and timely picture of their food and labor costs.

"The goal of our operations team is for our restaurant leaders to be able to leverage technology in order to give them the time needed on the service line for a directed focus on fast, fresh, and friendly," says Mike Shelton, president, Shelton Restaurant Group LLC.

"We were already familiar with the comprehensive reporting Syrus provides and with their in-depth knowledge of the Popeyes brand and unique service model, working with Syrus was a natural choice," says Kenny Doiron, operations leader, Shelton Restaurant Group LLC. "The Syrus system has made our company and managers more knowledgeable on the numbers. We've already seen improvements in food [costs]."

"I'm very impressed with the management team at Shelton Restaurant Group. They truly see both the operational and strategic value of having accurate, actionable information, and the complementary back office tools to improve results, and have taken a thorough and thoughtful approach to the implementation of Syrus," says Jim Karam, president, Syrus Restaurant Information Services. "Kenny and Mike in particular have shown great leadership. We're excited to be partners going forward with the Shelton Restaurant Group and the entire Popeyes brand."
