Popeyes Louisiana Kitchen, a division of AFC Enterprises Inc. (NASDAQ: AFCE – News), is out to show the world that its wings are bite-sized pieces of Bonafide heaven, perfect to share with family or friends over football or a sit-down dinner. And to capture those sharing moments, today the company launched a nationwide consumer-generated photo contest: “Get Some Wings and Get Away” to coincide with the wings promotion.
The grand prize winner will receive a trip for two to Mardi Gras in New Orleans, home to Popeyes.
Popeyes wings are prepared just like its famous Bonafide chicken – slow marinated for 12 hours in a blend of Louisiana seasonings, hand-battered, hand-breaded and made fresh. They are available at participating locations through October 12, 2009:
* 5 pieces with a cool ranch dipping sauce
* 10 pieces with a cool ranch dipping sauce
* 20 pieces with a cool ranch dipping sauce
The Popeyes “Get Some Wings and Get Away” photo contest is a great way to connect the fun of friends, family and wings. First, take a photograph of you eating Popeyes wings, having fun with Popeyes wings, eating wings in an unusual way or place, or a creative photo featuring Popeyes wings. Then, go to www.BonafideKrewe.com, click on the contest logo and enter the contest by submitting the photo.
The general public will vote on its favorite photos to select the finalists and a panel of judges will then select one lucky consumer from the group of finalists to receive the grand prize of a two-day trip for two to New Orleans for Mardi Gras (February 16, 2010). Four runner up winners will each receive a $100 Popeyes gift card. And, anyone who casts a vote online will automatically be entered into a sweepstakes to win a Popeyes $100 gift card.
The Popeyes “Get Your Wings and Get Away” contest begins August 31, 2009, and ends October 12, 2009.
