McDonald’s has awarded A.J. Antunes & Co., a foodservice equipment manufacturer based in Carol Stream, Illinois, the 2012 Supplier of the Year as well as the 2012 Innovation of the Year and the 2012 Reliability of the Year. The awards were presented to the executive staff of A.J. Antunes & Co. at the Worldwide Supplier Summit, a biannual gathering of suppliers and distributors from McDonald’s global network held near McDonald’s corporate headquarters in Oak Brook, Illinois.

A.J. Antunes & Co. has been a trusted partner for McDonald’s since 1973. When McDonald’s first introduced breakfast into its restaurants, A.J. Antunes & Co. created a steamer for serving hot and fresh Danish pastries. Since then, A.J. Antunes & Co. has developed a wide range of equipment, including toasters, steamers, timers, and water filtration systems, to help McDonald’s operations around the world serve consistently great food and drinks to customers.

The Supplier of the Year, Innovation of the Year, and Reliability of the Year awards are presented annually based on several categories of scores within McDonald’s system of 33,000 restaurants, including survey results, worldwide objectives, innovation, savings, and reliability. A.J. Antunes & Co. won the three awards based on its new product releases, improved technologies, and equipment performance throughout the world.
