Rational Grows 11% in 2012, Wins Technology Awards
This year, the first-class industry publications, GVmanager and 24 Stunden Gastlichkeit, once again awarded the best in the industry with the BEST of Market 2013 at the Internorga fair in Hamburg on behalf of their readers.
More than 2,200 decision makers from the hotel, gastronomy, and catering industries again put Rational in first place within the "cooking technology" category.
No other contender was able to gather as many points within the areas of quality, service, and cost-effectiveness.
However, that was not enough: In Cologne, Rational was named "Germany's most customer-oriented service provider 2013".
Together with the University of St. Gallen and the Handelsblatt newspaper, ServiceRating GmbH held the competition nationally for the eighth time for companies of different industries and sizes.
Rational reached second place as the best B2B Company.
In the competition, Rational also received the industry prize "B2B Service Provider" and the special prize "Configuration". This means that the market services of a company respond exceptionally well to customer requirements.
“We are especially delighted at receiving this award, as it is ultimately our supreme corporate objective to always offer our customers maximum benefits and the best tool to cook their dishes," says Dr. Peter Stadelmann, RATIONAL AG board member, who received the prize in Cologne.
In addition, Rational has once again increased its sales revenue in 2012, growing 11 percent from $509.95 million to $566.48 million.
All regions worldwide contributed to this growth, as the specialist for professional cooking appliances announced at its balance sheet press conference at the end of March.
"Developments in America and Asia are particularly pleasing," says Dr. Günter Blaschke, chairman of the board of Rational AG.
In America, the company based in Southern Germany achieved 27 percent growth, and sales went up 26 percent in Asia.
"Worldwide, our products have prevailed as the new standard of performance in professional kitchens," Blaschke says.
In Germany, the single-highest revenue market, Rational set a new sales record with more than 7,000 appliances sold in 2012.
"We know the requirements and needs of our customers and are therefore better able than others to solve their problems and continuously improve their working world," Blaschke says.
Rational is celebrating its 40th anniversary this year. In all of that time, it has been the company’s primary objective to offer its customers maximum benefits at all times.
Pioneering innovations have secured Rational as the market and technology leader by a wide margin.
Blaschke remains optimistic for the current financial year.
"Given the very good acceptance of our products and the still great free worldwide market potential, we are anticipating that our growth rate will continue in 2013," he says.
