Rational AG is investing roughly 8.3 million dollars in extending its company headquarters in Landsberg, Bavaria. Rational is building capacities for a new training center and offices on 32,292 square feet of floor space. Construction work is expected to be completed by March 2013.

The new building is currently being erected on the grounds of the third Rational AG plant in Frauenwald. With an area of 4,844 square feet, the ground floor will house four highly modern training centers for theoretical training and practical cooking applications. An automatic partition system will also allow large-scale events with up to 190 participants to be held.

"The training requirements for our worldwide customers are growing year after year, particularly as the result of the increasing demand for our new SelfCookingCenter whitefficiency. The existing premises can no longer cope with these requirements," Dr. Blaschke, CEO of Rational AG, explains.

For the Landsberg-based company, maximum customer benefits are the top priority. Regular seminars and cooking events are hands-on opportunities to show customers all the advantages of using the SelfCookingCenter whitefficiency in their kitchen. Innovative cooking technology makes day-to-day work in professional kitchens all over the world significantly easier and more efficient. At the same time, food quality is rising, while costs are falling.

The upper floor of the new building will house offices with around 80 workstations. When the new building is completed, the German sales subsidiary of Rational AG will be moving into the upper office floor, which has consciously been designed transparent, modern, and with team communication in mind.

The necessary heating and cooling energy for the building will be gained from renewable and existing geothermic sources. "For us, sustainable business means using all of the available resources responsibly – both from an ecological and economical point of view," Dr. Blaschke explains. Low-temperature heating systems and efficient heat recuperation in the ventilation systems round the concept off. A landscaped inner courtyard and rainwater seepage on the grounds make a further positive ecological contribution.

In addition, Rational USA and Rational Canada, together, have grown 30 percent compared to last year, within the first six months of 2012. This year, Rational USA was presented with the Kitchen Innovations Award for the SelfCookingCenter whitefficiency, HiDensityControl innovation in the KI Pavilion at the NRA Show. Rational Canada won the 2012 Best Booth with the Highest Traffic Award at the CRFA Show, which left them winning awards at this show two years in a row.
